Every week on Thursday it has been fantastic seeing so many 1KH students walking to school from BLACK checkpoint!
Next week on TUESDAY 21 OCTOBER is a big Walk to School, all check points will be open to walk from. I will be walking from BLACK checkpoint as usual and will leave at 8.30 to walk to school. It would be excellent to see all of 1KH there!!!
Keep up the energetic attitude!!! Love it!! 🙂
This terms topic is another exciting SCIENCE unit called Schoolyard Safari.
This unit is all about exploring the creepy crawlies that can be found in the schoolyard. We have looked around and followed careful instructions to look after the creatures that are around us. Some students have even brought in different insects and spiders in containers with air holes or bug catchers in to the classroom so we can have a closer look.
In week 1 we focussed on wiggly worms. 1KH learnt all about the different features a worm has, such as a mouth, tail and saddle and all about a worms digestive system which was very interesting!
This week we are studying ants so stay tuned for the exciting facts 1KH learn!
This Geography unit has been all about the places around us. We’ve been look at different features around the school, at home and at Green Gully Park.

Just a reminder that swimming starts next week, so please don’t forget your swimming gear on Monday 11 August.
You will need: your bathers, towel, goggles, underwear, a plastic bag for wet bathers and a little bag to take your things in to swimming. Please name your things so they don’t get lost.
We will provide you with a cap with your name on it.
Can’t wait to get started!!! See you all ready on Monday 🙂
Can’t believe we are already in term 3!!!
Year 1KH have already been busy, busy bees!!
This term our unit is Geography, Look up-down, Look all around! So we have been drawing pictures of what we see outside and walking around the school to listen, look and feel.
We have already had the skip-a-thon, which was freezing but a lot of fun!
Serpell has been doing lots of walks to school, thank you Sarah, Billi, Maya, Grace, Oliver and Marcus for joining me at the black check point walk!!!
Watch this space for more exciting 1KH news!
Just a friendly reminder that next Thursday 5/6 and Friday 6/6 are curriculum days and there will be no school.
The following Monday 9/6 is a public holiday.
Thank you.
Thank you so much to everyone for your involvement and support on ‘Science Night’. The children had a ball and loved showing you what they have learnt. I really appreciated you all being there and participating in such a fun night.
Welcome to 1KH’s collaborative space!
This is 1KH online space to share what we are learning and experiencing in the classroom! Please explore our blog and comment on the exciting things we are learning.
A blog is a way for our learning community to share ideas, discuss forum topics and have access to digital learning resources.
